Mexico 2009

We had the pleasure of going back to Mexico on vacation last month. Lisa's parents and her Uncle John & Aunt Jennifer also went with us. We stayed at The Grand Mayan...a beautful resort 30 minutes south of Cancun where we stayed a few years ago. It was a great trip...we saw and did much. The food was wonderful, the people were nice and we saw no pigs running around with the flu. Actually, we didn't see any sick Mexicans, and only saw 2 people wearing masks...those were the girls giving out samples at Sam's Club in Playa del Carmen. The risk of getting sick was much higher if we stayed home in Cache Valley.
We had a fantastic time with our LDS tour guide Mosiah. The 2 days we spent looking at ruins with him was a great experience filled with insight and reflection on the Book of Mormon. We were amazed at how this ancient people on the Yucatan Pennisula looked forward to the coming of Christ and how the signs, symbols and engravings that remain today testify that he did visit them. Suffice it to say that this is a special place.
We always enjoy taking the ferry over to the island of Cozumel. We always eat lunch at the same place and always love to take a taxi to the undeveloped backside of the island where the beaches there are amazing.
Thanks again to Katie and Matt for taking care of Parker. We had a great trip that couldn't have happened without them.
Here are a few of our pictures:

The only thing that would have made us happier would have been to have Parker with us...
